Colt Python

Colt Manufacturing Co. announced the termination of its production of Python revolvers in October 1999 due to lack of sales and rising production costs. The Colt Custom Gun Shop continued decisive a narrow integer of Pythons on especial disposal until 2003, when even this determinate production was terminated. (Although the Colt Python homepage under external links below states that this hemmed in production continues, it defaulter been confirmed by Colt that this is not the case and the web Colt Python servant is out of date.)

  • Though it resembles a Python visually, in order to keep its purchase cost down it is substantially different internally and needed less hand fitting

  • The second was the stainless nerve Colt Grizzly of 1994, another delimited production .357 Magnum revolver
  • 500 of these revolvers were manufactured, with 6" Magna-Ported barrels only
  • The Grizzly has smooth, unfluted cylinders
  • The barrel is ported and includes a bear footprint
  • The frame and action were based on the Trooper/Mk-III action.
